METROPOLITAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS

Over the summer of 2014, COG conducted a Regional Terrorism exercise for the Metro Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas. The exercise was designed to test the interoperability of multiple regional public service agencies in the event of a terrorist attack, and their ability to respond quickly and efficiently, conduct accurate, timely and efficient communications with all necessary parties; provide and use equipment and other resources properly; manage logistics; prevent or mitigate public danger, and care for injured persons; critique performance of individual organizations and collectively to assess areas of competence and concern so as to prepare for similar real life situations that may occur.
